Major Frederick Fermor-Hesketh,
2nd Baron Hesketh

Fermor-Hesketh was the second son
of Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 1st Baron Hesketh. He studied at Eton College and
became a second lieutenant in the Scots Guards on April 10, 1937.
Fermor-Hesketh, who rose to the temporary rank of major in 1943, succeeded as
the 2nd Baron Hesketh on July 20, 1944. He was made an honorary major in the
Scots Guards in 1946 and became Deputy Lieutenant of Northamptonshire in 1950. Fermor-Hesketh’s
mother, Florence Louise Breckinridge of Kentucky, was the granddaughter of John
C. Breckinridge, 14th Vice President of the United States.
